This map, made for General Henry Knox, is dated 1786 and signed by Jonathan Stone. Knox acquired much of the Waldo Patent, originally the property of Brigadier General Samuel Waldo, by marrying Waldo's granddaughter, Lucy Flucker. Her family were staunch Tories that fled the country during the American Revolution so she was the only one that could inherit.
A notation on the map notes that it contains "576,000 acres equal to 30 miles square." Place names on the map include Orphan Island, Brigadier Island, Fox Island, Broad Bay, Muscongus River, St. Georges River, Medomack, Meduncook, Canaan, Camden, Warren, Thomaston, Union and Belfast.
