Description
Crew members of the privateer Young Teazer, which sailed out of Portland, signed up to attack British ships in the Gulf of Maine.
The captured ships or its goods were sold, with prize money paid to the crew. The cash was distributed by rank, with the commander's share at 10, and the ordinary seaman receiving ¾ share.
The Young Teazer was blown up June 27, 1813 by one of its crew members when cornered in Nova Scotia by British ships.
