Camp Albans brochure, St. Albans, ca. 1930

Contributed by St. Albans Historical Society

Elva M. Parker (1899-1977) owned and operated Camp Albans, located on the north shore of Big Indian Lake in St. Albans. The camp's main customers were Business and Professional Women's and Girl's clubs.

Ads like this brochure beckoned tourists to visit the camp, and detailed activities such as: "Hikes, trips, reading or resting in the grove, water sports of all kinds, and various ways to rest and re-create."

Herbert and Grace Luckman purchased Camp Albans in the early 1950s and renamed the resort "Indian Lake Camps."
