Description

Zilpah Wadsworth Longfellow (1778-1851) was the daughter of Peleg and Elizabeth Bartlett Wadsworth of Portland. In 1804, she married Stephen Longfellow, a lawyer, judge, and legislator who was active in civic affairs.

The couple had eight children. Among them was the noted poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
