Tin tube fire extinguisher, Waldoboro, ca. 1900

Description

"The Hanks" tin tube fire extinguisher was manufactured by the Hanks Manufacturing company of Augusta. It is full of a dry powder.

This type of extinguisher was used in some of the homes in Waldoboro. This one was donated to the Waldoboro Fire Department by a resident who was cleaning out a barn in town.
