Description
Lt. John P. Sheahan of the 31st Maine Infantry wrote to his father in Dennysville that his brother Ned, also in the 31st, had gone to New York and probably should enter the invalid corps because he would never be able to stand field service.
Another brother, Henry, also in the 31st, was a cook and was doing well.
Sheahan included a sketch of the Petersburg magazines.
