John Minot wrote to Stephen Minot in 1732 about Indians blaming a man named Jacquish for the death of French missionary Sebastian Rale.
Minot said that a man in Brunswick was giving the Indians rum and telling them Jacquish was responsible for Rale's death.
Indian-English tensions were high at this point, especially after the killing of Rale, a man much loved by the Indians.
