Description
"Here we see Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway locomotive No. 3 simmering beside the engine house. Originally built in Portland for the Wiscasset & Quebec Railroad as shop No. 627 in 1894, it was the next-to-last steam locomotive ever to be built by the Portland Company. Only two Portland locomotives are known to stil exist. One is a sister to the above engine, and one is a standard-gauge Canadian National Railroad engine and is at a museum in Ottowa."--Fletcher, David H. 'The Portland Company 1846-1982.'
