Description

These sketches show the buildings and site plan of Fort Halifax in Winslow, Maine. The middle engraving was created by Russell Richardson.

The original plan for Fort Halifax was drawn up under General John Winslow's command. The Fort had to be modified and made smaller due to the lack of manpower to build and later to actually man the fortification. The fort's construction took two years and was eventually manned by twelve.
