Description

Russ and Paris Merrill purchased property between Mill Cove and the southern shore of Crotch Island in 1872, being the second granite firm to commence quarrying cellar stone and paving block for the Boston market.
Patrick Ryan and Andrew Parker of the Ryan and Parker construction Company purchased the quarry in 1901, quarrying stone for the East River Bridge, NYC and a bridge in St. Louis, MI.
