Description

DATM (1999) states Fabian made rules, including log rules, in Milo Junction, Maine, starting in 1897. Donated to the museum by Phil Platt.
Size: 3’ by 1’ 8”.
Signed: “V. FABIAN MILO” partially obscured signature. The V. stands for Valentine.

A large caliper normally made of wood, used to measure the diameter of a log. The beam is often imprinted with a board-foot table.
