Aftermath of the Gay Block fire of 1962, Waldoboro

Description

On February 22nd 1962 the Gay Building, which was located in the center of the downtown village in Waldoboro, was devastated by fire. The building was a total loss. This is photo was taken a few days after the fire. If you look closely you can still see the steam coming from the remains.
