Description

The Charles A. Stephens "Laboratory" at Pennesseewassee Lake in Norway was Stephens' home and laboratory.

George W. Herrick, (1848-1934) was the builder, working without an architect or blueprint.

Stephens told Herrick, a local carpenter, what he had in mind, and Herrick built it. This went on for 20 years as Stephens kept adding on.

Charles A. Stephens was a noted author of children's and young adult books.
