Description

Photograph of Water Street (sometimes known among locals as Front Street) looking northwest. The brick building in semi-distance is the old Lubec Banking & Trust Co., still standing as of 2011 with much trim removed. The next building forward, past the trees, is current location of Lubec Hardware. The closest building was the C.H. Clark & Company store (built in 1886 according to an article in the Lubec Herald February 18, 1937), later housed Unobsky’s Department store, then Lubec Apothecary. These buildings, facades greatly altered, remain in 2011 Note public pay phone sign above roof of the car.
