Rebecca Usher to sister, Quebec, 1841

Description

Writing from the Ursuline Convent at Three Rivers, Quebec, Rebecca Usher of Hollis explained to her sister that she wanted to stay at the convent school "to perfect the French."

Usher (1821-1912) had attended other schools, but chose the one in Quebec to learn French.
