W. Goddard wrote from Boston to Capt. Lemuel Moody of Portland, relaying the news that Capt. Webb could enter the Portland City Hospital for a cost not to exceed $6 a week, and that Goddard would provide surety for the bill.
Webb already was at sea when Goddard received the request from Moody for Webb to enter the hospital.
