The Coveside Inn demolition, Christmas Cove, 2006

Contributed by South Bristol Historical Society

Description

Once the Coveside Inn property was sold to a developer in 2006, the South Bristol fire department and other local first departments agreed to burn it down in a training exercise. The fire fighters coated the structure with foam, then set it afire from within. After several hours, all that remained was a smoldering pile of ash. The last of the summer hotels in Christmas Cove was gone.
