Description

On August 10, 1827 fourteen people founded the Monson Baptist Church. The Baptist meeting house was erected in 1845 with regular ministers conducting services, the first being Rev. Lebbens Kingman.

IN 1933, as membership decreased it was decided to hold joint services with the Congregational Church. For 6 months of the year the Baptist Church held services and for the remaining 6 months services were held at the Congregational Church. On June 26, 1957, by a vote of 8-7, the decision was made to move the Baptist Church from its location on Pleasant Street to join the Congregational Church on Main Street. The combined churches became the Monson Community Church.

This postcard was mailed by Rev. H.C. Speed as a Christmas greeting and to remind members that Sunday services were at 10:45 am and 7:00 pm. Prayer meetings were held Monday and Thursday evenings.
