Description

This picture taken around 1912 by a professional photographer shows John Chase Savage (1874-1938) and Emily Nicholson Savage (1875-1941) and 4 of their children in front of the "Big Barn" formerly located at 8 Asticou Way, Northeast Harbor, Maine. From left to right, we have Emily with daughter Mary Louise Savage (1910-1997) in her lap, John with a prized horse named Jill, Richard Manchester Savage (boy wearing beret) (1908-1985), John N. Savage (1905-1928), Samuel T. Savage (1906-1939). The man on the right is Harry Merchant, who was a hired hand for the Savage family for many years.
