Ridlonvlle Memorial Rock, Mexico, 2006

Description

On June 1, 2006, a rock with a plaque reading "Rildonville Settlement 1894" was placed at the foot of Day Hill near the site of the former Hotel Ridlon. Members of the Mexico Historical Society held a dedication ceremony in memory of the section of Mexico once known as Ridlonville.

Beverly Melanson author of Remembering Ridlonville was present for the ceremony as well as Mexico Town Manager Joe Derouche, who played a significant role in the placement of the rock.
