Description

This picture taken March 31, 2013 at Forest Hill Cemetery, Northeast Harbor shows the gravestones of John Savage (1756-02/27/1816) a Solider of the Revolutionary War and his wife, Sarah Dolliver Savage (12/04/1764-12/28/1851). John, an immigrant from Scotland came to the United States at the age of 14. He met and married Sarah Dolliver in Marblehead, MA. In 1798 they made a homestead and settled on the eastern shore of Harbor Brook, which is located between Northeast Harbor and Seal Harbor.
