Description
A photograph taken of violinist Fritz Kreisler and Earnest Shelling and their accompanying wives in front of the Bar Harbor Building of the Arts. Kreisler and Shelling performed three individual Beethoven together at the Building of the Arts in the Summer of 1915. For many years after, Fritz Kreisler made Bar Harbor his summer get-a-way.
The Building of the Arts served for many years as a concert hall and venue for festivals, plays, and other events until the 1930's when it fell out of service. The Building of the Arts was destroyed in the 1947 fire, leaving only the foundation.
