Rough hewn hunting camp, Monson 1920

Contributed by Monson Historical Society

Description

Although the exact location of this old hunting camp is unknown, this photograph was taken in the vicinity of Monson. The construction of the camp shelter appears to be a little haphazard but this type of construction would have been used seasonally and didn't require much maintenance.

Shown are three young adults, one man has a deer hung over his shoulders, the second has the gun, and the third is holding an ax. Notice the wood stove in the doorway and old grindstone in the yard.
