This letter to Sarah Tarbox is written to invite her, her siblings Valentine and Abaline, and a third young person to an evening with other young people. The Blinn family is a Woolwich and/or Dresden family. From the context of the letter, Woolwich is the likely social destination. Sarah Tarbox was born January 7, 1823 and was the daughter of Mary "Polly" Brown and Samuel Tarbox. Samuel Tarbox was a member of the House of Representatives from Edgecomb in 1828 when Westport, then Jeremysquam, petitioned the State of Maine to legally separate from Edgecomb and become a town. Tarbox was the Town of Westport's first, First Selectman.
