Greenleaf lived in Suffolk County, MA in the 1860 census; and the cousin, Pamelia, she refers to in the letter is a Greenleaf.

Sarah Tarbox (b. 01-07-1823), the daughter of Mary "Polly" and Samuel Tarbox, a wealthy landowner and civic leader in Westport Island, ME, married Wilmot Greenleaf, also of Westport, in 1852. Wilmot served as the town's Treasurer, and owned a blacksmith shop and a shingle machine at Greenleaf Cove.
