This postcard, postmarked October 1906, was sent from Camden, Maine to Glen Cove, Maine. The printed legend at the bottom reads: “Holly Inn, Christmas Cove, Me” and below that “Published in Germany for G. W. Morris, Portland, Maine.”
In handwriting over the legend are the words “Emily- You dont know what you are escaping - Ethel” The building shown, built in 1904, was the first Holly Inn in Christmas Cove, a large frame structure with forty guest rooms. There was a beautiful view of Christmas Cove from this the west side and from the east one could see Pemaquid Point. The Inn burned down in 1907.
