This elaborately engraved swiveled teapot with matching goblets was used for social events by the Androscoggin Fire Company No. 2 of Topsham and by the Androscoggin Veteran Firemen's Association of Topsham. Such events included teas, dances, and other community get-togethers.

The Androscoggin Veteran Firemen's Association was founded when the Androscoggin No. 2 hand engine was retired from active fire service in 1920 and became a muster unit. It won numerous muster competitions.
