Moosehead Lake has been the host to a wide variety of events and celebrations. This photograph of a large gathering of people at the foot of the lake was taken around 1930. It appears to be a gathering to view water events on the lake.
The large building in the center is Charles Gower's Store and Grist Mill. The steamboat Moosehead II is at the left, and the steamboat Katahdin II is at far right.
