Description
This photograph of Horace J. Binford, was taken around 1920. Binford was the town physician in Mexico from the late 1880s until the 1940s.
Horace Jose Binford was born in Chatham, New Hampshire December 27, 1856. In February of 1882 he commenced studies to become a physician under Dr. D. Lowell Lamson of Fryeburg, Maine and in 1883 he attended the full course of lectures at Dartmouth Medical School. After his time at Dartmouth, Binford moved on to study at the University of Vermont in 1884 and graduated in 1885.
By January of 1886 Binford was listed as a physician in Mexico. Binford continued to live and work in Mexico until his death in 1944.
