Description

Everett Parsons with his horse, Silas, in front of H.P. Sawyer's Mill at what is now Pritham Avenue and Lakeview Street in Greenville in 1886. This was H.P Sawyer's Mill team which delivered clapboard edge cuts scraps for use as boat fuel. The piles of wood were important fuel for the steamboats on Moosehead Lake. There are several steamboats tied up at the left center of photograph. They are the Fairy of the Lake, Rebecca, Wm. Parker, and Louisa.
