Description

This is an areial view of the Monson-Maine Slate Quarry Mill located at the end of Chapin Avenue.

The Monson-Maine Slate quarry closed in 1933. The mill building was bought by Moosehead Manufacturing Co. in 1947 and after their closing was purchased in 2010 by Carl Vainio. As of 2012 Vainio is the owner of several quarry sites in Monson.
