The Giant Slalom course, for the 1971 World Cup, on the section of the Narrow Gauge ski trail known as Kangaroo Hill at Sugaloaf.
The Narrow Gauge ski trail was the premier ski racing trail in the Eastern United States. As of 2012, it is still considered the premier ski racing trail in the Eastern United States and is the only trail in the East currently certified for Men's international Downhill racing.
In this photograph several hundred spectators are lined up on the left side and at finish area to get a good view of the racing action. The building on the right behind the scoreboard is where the timing of the race was done.
