Jean Luce, Ned McSherry and Harry Baxter, three of the key race officials for the 1971 World Cup at Sugarloaf, are pictured here going over last minute preparations.

On the left is the race secretariat Jean Luce. Luce was in charge of the race headquarters and all of the paperwork that had to be done to make the races official. Luce was, and as of 2012 continues to be, a resident of the Sugarloaf local community.

In the middle is Ned McSherry who was Chief of Course Preparation. It was his responsiblity to ensure that the courses were groomed for optimum success and safety. McSherry was also the head of the Sugarloaf junior ski racing competition program. He was a racer himself in his youth and after retiring from coaching, McSherry competed in the US Master's ski racing circuit.

On the right is Sugarloaf General Manager Harry Baxter. Baxter was the General Chairman of the event. As Chairman, the buck stopped with him. Baxter and his team pulled out all the stops to make the 1971 World Cup at Sugarloaf a very successful event.
