Description

On June 24, 1882, Moses Parsons and David P. Brooks, both of Norway, signed an indenture which placed Parsons's grandson, William Curtis Stiles, into an apprenticeship with Brooks.

Stiles was to be taught the "art and trade of a farmer." Brooks was ordered to "offer the manner of an apprentice to dwell and serve" until the date of Stiles's twenty-first birthday, May 25, 1896, and also to provide Stiles with "the benefit and privilege of the common schools in said town of Norway", and "good, sufficient and suitable food, lodging and clothing, and all other things necessary in sickness and in health."
