'Need power' sign, 1998

During the ice storm of January 1998, people frequently placed hand-written signs near their property to let utility crews know that they still needed to be reconnected to the power grid.
This sign, saved by a Central Maine Power Co. crew, reads, "Need Power!!! 9-month baby inside."
