John B. Vigue, 1949

Jean Baptiste (John) Vigue, born 1890 in St. Georges, Quebec, joined Central Maine Power Co. in 1909 when it was still known as Messalonskee Electric Company. He gained a reputation for speed and vigor as a lineman, and according to one estimate, helped build roughly 700 miles of transmission in his 43 years of service. Two of Vigue’s sons, Albert and Donald, also worked for CMP.
