Description
This reproduction cocked hat is made from beaver felt. Beaver fur consists of two types of hair: the coarse outer guard hair and the soft underfur which is referred to as "beaver wool". Beaver trapped in the winter months was considered to be superior in felt making as the extra oil from the body helped mesh the wool fibers.
