Kora Temple interior, Lisbon Street, Lewiston, ca. 1910

Contributed by Lewiston Public Library

Description

From Gridley Barrows' notes for his Walking Tour #1 of Lewiston:

Masonic Building -- Designed by Coombs in 1902 the Masonic Block exhibits Italianate features. Note the severe distinction between the floors and the rustication on the lower levels. Typical of these buildings was an asymmetric floor plan with a large meeting hall on an upper floor. The copper roofing is the handiwork of a skilled German artisan Korneffel.
