Fryeburg-Lovell stage postcard, ca. 1900

Contributed by Lovell Historical Society

Description

The Fryeburg Lovell stage carried passengers and mail between Fryeburg and Lovell.

Even after mail began to be carried by motor vehicles, the residents continued to refer to it as the "stage."

The picture is taken in front of the old Lovell Post Office, which later became Rosie's Restaurant.
