A publicity postcard of a winding guard rail keeping cars safely on the road. The state was first heavily promoted as Vacationland in the 1930s, when the slogan was printed on license plates to remind residents and visitors of its new identity.

The caption reads, "Road scene in Maine, Vacationland."

The Tichnor Brothers printing company published this type of postcard circa 1920-1935.
