Description
A Tichnor Brothers postcard promotes tourism in Maine with images of Portland Head Light, potato harvesting, the Wadsworth-Longfellow House, fishing and a moose. The postcard also features the Maine State House in Augusta and the Maine state flower, the pine cone and tassel.
The caption reads, "Greetings from Maine."
The Boston-based Tichnor Brothers publishing firm was founded in 1907 and became a leading postcard manufacturer by the early 1920s. It published this type of postcard circa 1930-1945.
