Description

This picture postcard of Contention Cove and addressed to a Mr. S. C. Lord of Thermal, California is postmarked June 1, 1936 and is complete with a cancelled 2 cent stamp. The picture shows a sailboat moored on a sandy shore. In the 1800s Contention Cove was home to a steamboat wharf which eventually fell into disrepair.
