Charles M. Lynch of Erie, Pennsylvania, wrote to John P. Sheahan, a native of Dennysville, recalling their escape from a Confederate prison in South Carolina earlier in late in 1864.
Lynch was in the 145th Pennsylvania Volunteers.
Lynch reported that he was now practicing law in Erie and doing well. He congratulated Sheahan on his marriage.
