Description
The powder horn is inscribed with "Joshua Freeman March 27/1767" and decorated with images of a bird, flower, squirrel, bear, buck and rattlesnake. Joseph Weir, who made the powder horn, was a scout and Indian fighter who often stopped at the Freeman Tavern on Middle Street in Portland.
