Description

Good Will Farm at Good Will-Hinckley as it appeared during the 1920s. Students at Good Will who misbehaved were sometimes sent to Walter Price, the long-time farm manager, for punishment. One former Good Will Boy who graduated in 1949 recalled:

"Well one time I, I think my (house) matron misunderstood what I said. She was having a discussion, heated discussion, with the other boys and I came in late and chimed in something and I got into trouble. So...I had to report to N.H. Hinckley and...he said 'well you head out to Walt Price, the farm manager, and he'll give you a duty.' Well, I don't know which one it was but I do remember one time, in March probably, shoveling fertilizer from hens. Manure that had been sitting there for probably since last fall. The ammonia was enough to curl your hair, although it didn't."
