Description

The Reverend Samuel Deane was the second minister of the First Parish Church in Portland from 1795-1814, though he was ordained there in 1764 and worked at the Parish from that time onward.

Thomas Smith was the first parson of the church, serving from 1727 until his death in 1795. Deane and Smith served together from 1764 to 1795.
