Knights of Pythias ribbon, ca. 1900

Description

A ribbon worn by a member of the Knights of Pythias, a secret fraternal organization that is dedicated to understanding among men and universal peace. It was founded in 1864.

The ribbon includes many symbols, including crossed swords, skull and crossbones, a knight's head, a bird and several letters.

The ribbon is from Crescent Lodge, No. 20 in Steep Falls.

The reverse is black satin mourning ribbon with silver lettering.
