'Beneath the Pines of Maine,' Boston, 1901

Description

Walter Rolfe (1880-1944), a native of Rumford Corners, wrote the words and music to "Beneath the Pines of Maine" -- a "Beautiful Home Song of the Old Pine Tree State."

The cover also features the text, "Sung with Phenomenal Success by Julia Crosby," and an image of her.

Rolfe, who lived in Massachusetts and taught piano and music theory, included the dedication, "Lovingly Inscribed to My Mother." He composed more than 300 pieces of music.

George M. Krey Music Publishers of Boston published the sheet music.
