Description

Members of the Canadian National Club of Biddeford, some in costume, pose in about 1910.

The Canadian National Club was one of the many French-Canadian groups active in Biddeford during the early part of the 20th century. It appears to have had some skit or theatrical activities, with most of the photographs of the group featuring a number of the members in costume.

According to this portrait, the group was formed October 17, 1910, and this portrait shows the organization during its first year. The writing at the bottom of the image is in French, and reads: "Fondé - C.N.C. - Oct 17 1910.; -1ere anni-", which translates to "Founded - C.N.C - Oct 17 1910.; -First year-."
