An unidentified worker attends the slashing machines at the Pepperell Mills, Biddeford, circa 1925. In the slashing room yarn was wound onto huge 3 foot diameter spools to prepare them for the weaving rooms. Here the yarn on section beams from the warping rooms are being wound onto the big loom beams.
